Avoiding buying maternity clothing –

Matching Set –

I’ve been getting a lot of wear out of this cute matching set by L*Space! Which has surprised me, considering it’s a crop pullover so you’d think it wouldn’t work with a bump. I recommend getting some curved hem tops if you don’t already have a couple in your closet. They really are forgiving for a growing bump! I’m wearing a my normal pre-pregnancy sizes in all these looks I’m sharing with you & I’m currently 27 weeks pregnant.

Flowy Dress –

We all have some type of flowy dress in our wardrobe! Not all of them will be flattering while pregnant because it adds more volume to your already voluminous body. I personally find the ones with smocking to be the most flattering / enhances the bump nicely! Mine is smocked at the bust so it’s fitted around my smallest part & is stretchy enough to be comfortable around above my bump. I couldn’t find the exact dress or sandals ( Sol Sana Eastwood Slide ) But I link something similar!

Oversized Tunic –

This is a Free People tunic that I got back in the day when I used to own a women’s online shop! I couldn’t find anything close to link for you but Free People has some really good options considering it’s a flowy oversized brand. I always wear an XS in this brand because their sizing is larger! Although it does depend on how you’d like the fit on certain pieces. The Bellaband has been working really well for me. Some women love them & others find them uncomfortable. I’ll be real with you I haven’t worn it for long periods of time. But I’ve heard you can be constantly adjusting your denim / the band. With that being said I think it’s a great way to avoid purchasing maternity denim. Although I will say… I only fit into some of my pre-pregnancy denim! There’s a couple pairs that just don’t have enough stretch in the hips / bum area.

Fitted Dress –

Okay, so for this look I wish I could find the exact Gentle Fawn dress since it’s super comfy + double lined but they don’t have anything similar. I recommend getting some type of fitted dress that you can through a T-shirt over top to create a whole new look! It can any graphic tee of your choice. I got mine at Aerie but it’s sold out! So I linked a similar one. This is a simple look but one you’ll probably already have in your closet! My advice make sure to shop your own closet as your bump grows. Some things may surprise you. That way you can stay true to your style all while experiencing the miracle of pregnancy!

NOTE- You may find that it is tricky to avoid buying maternity clothing. It is individual for everyone! But I just wanted to share with you some of my tips / tricks to save money when it comes to being pregnant. Here’s some bonus tips > size up in some non-maternity pieces that you’ll know you will be able to wear after pregnancy. If you need to buy maternity wear I recommend getting a quality pair of maternity leggings. You want to make sure you get a lot of wear out of the maternity pieces you may decide you need! At the end of the day do what works for you & your growing body. Since I was pregnant in the Summer I found it really easy to shop my closet! I’m thinking it maybe tricker in the colder months.
